The 2024 Skills Fair for Quality apprenticeships gathered on ITCILO campus for 3 days 229 participants, 29 booths representing governments, projects, employers’ organizations, workers’ organizations and training institutions and more than 100 speakers on a one-of-a-kind global hybrid event.
During the programme the various key stakeholders engaged on rich exchanges to advance apprenticeships as a quality, market-relevant and sustainable form of education and training, in order to create solutions to youth unemployment and upskilling and reskilling challenges.
OBJECTIVES
The Skills Fair on Quality Apprenticeships has aimed to promote quality apprenticeship as a form of training and education and an effective strategy for meeting the challenges of the future world of work. Following the adoption of Recommendation 208 of ILO in June 2023, this activity emphasised the key role of employers’ and workers’ organizations in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating apprenticeships policies and programmes whilst allowing to share real-life testimonies through the booth exhibitors and panels.
