The exponential growth in both data and analytical capabilities, including artificial intelligence, is creating opportunities and challenges for managing knowledge. By integrating data analytics and knowledge management, individuals and organizations can gain and share powerful insights, test strategies, improve transparency, increase value and improve the development impact. To equip learners with the necessary concepts, skills, and tools to collect, transform, and organize data for actionable knowledge and informed decision making for improving performances and work processes, ITCILO is offering this certification programme that provides the learners with the comprehensive understanding of data landscape and knowledge management from the light of individual practices, organization-wide processes, governance, and technological support systems. OBJECTIVES This certification attests that participants have achieved the following objectives: • Acquired a deep understanding of the fundamental concepts of data, information, and knowledge, especially within the context of development and become familiar with the global data ecosystem, understanding the various components and how they interconnect. • Developed the capability to assess their organization's readiness for data-driven transformation and the ability to create and implement data analysis plans including identifying and applying relevant data analytics tools and techniques • Equipped with practical skills to develop knowledge management strategies tailored to their specific organizational, programme, or project needs and demonstrating the ability to translate knowledge management principles into practise using the various techniques, tools and technologies. • Acquired knowledge on the integration of big data into the lifecycle of public policy processes, programmes, and projects including being acquainted with emerging trends such as artificial intelligence in the context of knowledge management. CONTENT I. Distance learning modules The online certification programme was delivered through the ITCILO online platform, its e-campus. Participants completed the following eight tutor-guided modules: 1. Data, Information, and Knowledge in Development: Navigating the landscape 2. Familiarizing With the Data Ecosystem 3. Leveraging Data Analytics 4. Foundations of Knowledge Management: Unlocking organizational intelligence 5. Knowledge Management Principles into Practise : Techniques, tools and technological solutions 6. Organizational Learning and Knowledge Continuity: Sustaining Development through Institutional Memory and Adaptive Learning 7. Big Data and Knowledge Management Nexus for Developmental Impact 8. Navigating the Future: AI-Driven Knowledge Management in Development II. Knowledge tests and practical assignments For every module, participants were required to study the content, to respond to a knowledge test and to practise by applying the knowledge, tools and techniques on their own programme/project or on a case study in order to develop their skills. III. Practical assignments and/or case study Throughout the programme participants completed a practicum, with the support and guidance of ITCILO expert and tutor. The fusion of assignments and case studies enabled participants to engage in key tasks that blend the principles of data analytics and knowledge management. This comprehensive approach fosters value creation, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness at both personal and organizational levels. As a result, participants are better equipped to be impactful, resilient, and prepared for future challenges. ACHIEVEMENT This certificate of achievement is delivered to the participants who have produced the required deliverables by completing the self-guided modules, the knowledge tests, and the assignments and/or case studies. I. Distance learning modules and knowledge test (25 hours) • Completion of eight tutor-guided online modules II. Practical case studies and assignments (30 hours) • Completion of eight individual assignments and/or case studies to simulate performing the essential tasks needed III. Soft-skills and ethical practices in Data Analytics and Knowledge Management (5 hours) • Participation in online learning activities to familiarize with principles, standards and ethical practices to properly and successfully engage in Data Analytics and Knowledge Management activities.
