This regional Academy brought together professionals from Asia and the Pacific with different professional backgrounds who followed two highly specialized tracks on international labour standards (ILS). During the Master Classes in plenary, participants explored standards-related themes presented in the context of the COVID-19 recovery in the region.
OBJECTIVE
To provide in-depth understanding of the comprehensive system of ILS and its application at national level.
CONTENT
• The ILS system: main characteristics and ILS procedures, from standard-setting to national application.
• The content of ILS in selected areas.
• NORMLEX database and other resources on ILS on the Net.
• Transversal themes:
- The importance of ILS and supervision for sustainable development and the recovery from the COVID-19 crisis.
- Labour law developments in the region.
- Inequalities and the world of work.
- Social protection in pursuit of a better future.
