GLOBAL ACADEMY ON THE GREEN ECONOMY

The 5th edition of the Global Academy on the Green Economy, organized with the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE), gathered decision makers to explore frontier approaches and share country experiences to build resilient, inclusive and green economies. The Global Academy strengthened the capacities of policymakers, UN agencies, social partners and non-state actors to navigate green economy policies in complex socio-economic context OBJECTIVES This Academy aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills they need to promote a green and inclusive economic transformation: • How to go about the green transformation in your country: Policy reforms, policy cycles and social dialogue, the role of civil society, social partners and development partners • How to make green transformation inclusive and resilient, in line with just transition principles • International frameworks, partnerships, coalitions and mechanisms for green economic transformation • Tools and methods to mainstream the green economy in national and sectoral policymaking • How to ensure that the interests of women, young people and vulnerable groups are taken into account in green economy strategies • How to catalyse united efforts, engaging different stakeholders in achieving an inclusive green transformation CONTENT Circular economy, Fiscal policies for an inclusive green transformation, Green business support, Green finance, Green industrial growth, Just energy transition, Just transition to environmentally sustainable economies and societies, Modelling of the social, economic and environmental impacts of policies and investment scenarios, Nature-based solutions, Policy cycles for an inclusive green economy, Skills for the green economy, South-South and Triangular Cooperation, Sustainable agriculture and food systems, Trade for a green economy.
