Good governance is crucial for Employers’ and Business Member Organizations (EBMOs). This course teaches the principles of independence, clarity, and transparency which must be adhered to without exception. Additionally, it covers relevant governance rules to ensure a balanced representation of business interests and a healthy rotation in decision-making positions within the organizations. It guides participants on how to design strong statutes and by-laws that clearly define the role and responsibilities of President, Board members, the Chief Executive Officer, and its secretariat team.
OBJECTIVES
1.Learn about the principles of good governance and why they are important for EBMOs.
2. Compare and benchmark EBMO’s best governance practices
3. Understand the vulnerabilities and risks associated with poor governance rules and practices
4. Audit the effectiveness of good governance institutions and tools
5. Identify weaknesses and gaps in statutes, by-laws, internal procedures, and practices, and get access to templates and examples to formulate solutions to address them.
6. Lead by example in the promotion of principles of democratic governance and rule of law with company- members
