OBJECTIVES
Understand the structure and legal framework of the MLC, 2006 as amended.
Enhance the knowledge and capacities of national institutions to identify and address legal gaps in national legislation.
Discuss effective mechanisms for social dialogue and inter-institutional coordination.
Promote awareness of the MLC, 2006 provisions on seafarers’ rights and enforcement and compliance mechanisms.

Section 2: Main implementing obligations under MLC, 2006
Section 3: Overview of Specific Rights (Title 1 to 4)
Section 4: MLC, 2006 main requirements to regulate Recruitment and Placement Agencies
Section 5: MLC, 2006 main requirements to regulate Seafarers Employment Agreements
Section 6: MLC, 2006 main requirements to regulate Seafarers Social Security Protection
Section 7: Flag State inspection and Port State control – Title 5.
