Academy on Gender, Inclusion and the Future of Work

A combination of plenary lectures, panel discussions and keynote speeches will guide participants through a transformative agenda for gender equality and women’s empowerment in the world of work. The Academy offers a global forum to learn from high-level international experts, discuss and share experience with practitioners and test practical approaches and innovative methodologies. OBJECTIVES During the two weeks, plenary sessions and hands-on learning journeys participants will have: • Analysed the world of work and workplaces from a gender and non-discrimination perspective; • Identified measures to prevent and address workplace inequalities, discrimination, violence and harassment; • Focused on strategies and use tools for changing mind-sets, forging alliances and initiating sustainable change. Bridging the gap in employment - Care work, care workers and the care economy - The gender dimension of labour migration: challenges and opportunities - Women's transformative leadership - Gender, AI and the world of work Plenary sessions in the week 04 - 08 December 2023 - The right to a world of work free from violence and harassment: unveiling Convention 190 - The impact of the digital revolution on gender equality - Facing the risk of backlash regarding gender equality and women’s empowerment - The role of men and transformative masculinities - Gender equality and health: outcomes and lessons from HIV, TB and Covid-19 responses LEARNING JOURNEYS Exploring substantive topics such as: - Gender, care work and the care economy: good practices - Discrimination and pay equity: case studies - An introduction to gender mainstreaming - Strategic communication for women’s transformative leadership - Gender-responsive climate action - Gender equality and women’s empowerment in crisis settings - Violence and harassment in the world of work - Gender and organizational change: from participatory audits to equality plans - Focus on Gender Responsive Budgeting - Focus on gender sensitive statistics and indicators - Leave no one-behind – a rights-based approach to sustainable development - The digitalization of work: opportunity or threat for gender equality OPEN SPACE ACTIVITIES Gender Equality Diversity and Inclusion Day on December 1st, 2023 Gender Equality Exchange Marketplace on December 7th, 2023 NUMBER OF HOURS: 60
