OBJECTIVES
The overall objective of this Learning Lab was to enable and reinforce an exchange between TVET specialists from Eastern Europe, to serve as an opportunity for mutual learning with international peers and experts and to discover emerging trends and technologies. It aimed at supporting a culture of digital innovation in TVET and to discuss and experience newest trends and technologies in learning and doing business in the future.
By the end of this event, participants:
• understood the main innovations in digital and immersive technologies that are currently shaping the future of learning;
• discussed how such innovations can be applied in their context of their country and their institutions;
• explored the opportunities for future learning and working with digital technologies;
• developed ideas for shaping the future of TVET in their countries.
CONTENT
• Digital transformation of TVET systems: the ILO approach
• Instructional design and how to apply it for e-learning and blended learning in TVET: experiences from Bosnia and Herzegovina
• An introduction to XR, VR and AR
• Virtual reality for the electrical industry: a collaborative approach
• Innovations in TVET in Eastern Europe
• Sharing of experiences between participants
• Artificial Intelligence, its use in education and AI competences for teachers
• Creating “Intelligence” by Self-Assessing Digital readiness: The EU SELFIE-tool
• Industry 4.0: Smart factories in Germany, the experience of IST, Turin and “Fit for 4.0” – Experiences from an EU project
• Innovation challenge: Developing of innovative solutions for TVET for each country
• Stimulating a culture of innovation and change: Mutual support between countries and participants
METHODOLOGY
The methodology consisted of a mix between presentations, interactive exercises and discussions to facilitate mutual learning, knowledge exchange and reflection. Participants were asked to present experiences and innovations from their own countries and to develop innovative ideas. Some sessions were conducted in hybrid format, to allow the participation of members of the ILO Skills Innovation Network and the ILO Community of Practice via e-conferencing services.
