This online course was organized for TVET specialists, managers and teachers of TVET centres in order to rapidly develop their capacities for transforming available materials to suit online delivery and also operate distance learning programmes with a strong focus on multimedia, digital (incl. mobile) and interactive learning solutions.
OBJECTIVES
The course covered the most essential elements, quick tips and hands-on practice allowing participants to rapidly shifting face-to-face content of a module into an online offer. Participants got familiar with concrete tools and technologies to develop interesting, engaging and entertaining learning contents and to mainstream the latest advancements in technology, including Augmented Reality.
CONTENT
Module 1 – Introduction to e-learning: the e-learning and multimedia landscape:
o Understand the key challenges and features of digital transformation in TVET and Identify the key concepts, modalities and formats of e-Learning in TVET;
o Familiarize and apply the user-experiences in e-Learning;
o Define objectives and transforming them into expected outcomes.
Module 2 – the Platform: Learning Management System (LMS):
o Recognize the use of different Learning Management Systems used in TVET;
o Learning how to set up and edit into Moodle;
o Learn about the main Moodle tools and what tool to use according to the pedagogical goal to achieve.
Module 3 – Learning technologies: suitable online tools for multimedia production:
o Understand the definition of multimedia design content;
o Using videos activities for teaching activities;
o Identify authoring tools for the creation of multimedia e-Learning content.
Module 4 – Digital accessibility: Tips for accessible digital learning:
o Understand how to provide a guided access to materials and activities to learners;
o Learn about effective online facilitation through a learner-centred approached;
o Understand the main features and trends of quality assurance in digital learning.
Module 5 – Facilitation/Tutoring and quality assurance: principles for e-pedagogy and e-assessment:
o Understand the rationale behind digital accessibility;
o Identify key tips and tricks to make your eLearning content more accessible.
METHODOLOGY
Throughout the modules, the participants created their own e-Lesson through a personalized practice canvas, which they can immediately use for e-Learning. Feedback from qualified tutors were provided along the course, including specific Clinique sessions to help the participants shape their e-Lesson.
Moreover, interactive webinars took place in a weekly basis with inputs from experts from around the world. The course was also an experience-sharing platform: connecting with other colleagues, opportunities for peer-learning support moments and using the latest e-tools designed to support TVET.
