MOOC on Human Rights Due Diligence for Decent Work

The MOOC “Human Rights Due Diligence and Decent Work” highlighted how principles of international labour standards relate to company operations, how those principles can be most effectively promoted and implemented through Human Right Due Diligence (HRDD), the role of governments and businesses, and how employers’ and workers’ organizations can guide and support such practices.

OBJECTIVES

The training aims to establish a common understanding of the ways in which businesses can contribute through their activities to the realization of decent work and the role that different actors play in promoting responsible and sustainable business practices, including through human rights due diligence. The MOOC aims to strengthen participants’ knowledge on:

  • International labour standards, including the Fundamentals Principles and Rights at Work, for more effective HRDD processes;

  • Trends, challenges and opportunities in human rights due diligence to advance decent work;

  • Specific guidance and good practices in human rights due diligence in support of decent work in various economic sectors;

  • Practical approaches to help small and medium enterprise (SMEs) with their RBC and human rights due diligence practices.

CONTENT

The course included the following elements:

  • 6 webinars of 2 hours each in English with live interpretation in French and Spanish with available recordings on the eCampus platform

  • a discussion forum for networking and exchange of experiences available in English, French and Spanish;

  • 8 self-guided thematic learning modules available in English, French and Spanish.
