Sound labour relations at the workplace can bring benefits in terms of productivity, reduced conflicts and disputes, improved job satisfaction, and improved decision-making on matters of mutual concern to management and workers. International Labour Standards provide the main guiding principles for this curriculum, notably with respect to freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining, but also other instruments designed to facilitate cooperation, communication, and conflict management at the workplace. OBJECTIVES This course aimed to provide the participants with the capacity to: • Promote sound industrial relations at all levels • Identify and promote relevant ILO standards in the area CONTENT The training sessions covered the following topics: • Collective bargaining • Workplace cooperation • Grievance handling ACHIEVEMENT At the end of the course, participants were able to: • Promote social dialogue and sound industrial relations in your own environment • Identify relevant ILO standards • Describe how sound industrial relations contributes to social justice NUMBER OF HOURS: 6
