The Innovation Sparks programme is the ILO’s hub for bold ideas and creative thinking, accelerating positive change for ILO constituents, advancing social justice, and promoting the UN 2.0 agenda through innovative solutions. Powered by the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITCILO), the program fosters innovation across the organization. The ILO Innovation Scouts Network features champions of change within the ILO, exchanging and experimenting with innovative solutions, products, and services to enhance collaboration, communication, and impact. The programme provides exclusive access to cutting-edge insights, strategies for scaling innovation, and opportunities for professional development to empower changemakers and trailblazers in advancing decent work and social justice.
OBJECTIVES
During the event, participants had the opportunity to:
Engage with the network to discuss innovation at the ILO and draw inspiration from members of the ILO Innovation Network.
Brainstorm, refine, and develop proposals for innovative capacity-building solutions within the ILO.
Present innovation proposals and gather initial feedback from the ILO Leadership Programme.
Explore, practice, and integrate the UN 2.0 Quintet of Change skillset, including foresight, digital, data, innovation, and behavioural science.
Reflect on the process, evaluate the event’s impact, and outline actionable next steps.
CONTENT
The event tackles the following topics :
Introduction to the ILO Innovation Scouts Network – Exploring the network's goals and introducing its members.
Innovation at the ILO – Discussing innovation initiatives and insights from the ILO and the UN Innovation Network.
Developing Innovative Capacity-Building Proposals – Brainstorming, refining, and creating proposals to enhance ILO’s capacity-building efforts.
Pitching Innovation Proposals – Presenting ideas and receiving feedback from the ILO Leadership Programme.
Exploration of the UN 2.0 Quintet of Change Skillset – Practicing and integrating skills in foresight, digital, data, innovation, and behavioural science.
Impact Evaluation and Next Steps – Reflecting on the event's outcomes, evaluating impact, and outlining future actions.
