Gender responsive budgeting within organizations: a hands-on training course to cost gender equality

1 - 26 March 2021 OBJECTIVES The eLearning course aimed to provide a common ground of understanding on how to implement a gender-responsive budgeting within organizations. It illustrated why gender-responsive budgeting matters for organizations – particularly in the rapid transformation of the world of work- and provides practical guidance and tools to cost gender equality measures. The online training combined theory and practice aiming to ensure that participants complete the course with valuable information for implementing gender-responsive budgeting within organizations. CONTENT The online training programme included: • Four online modules of interactive readings accompanied by support resources including links to documents, virtual learning tools and a recommended resources. • Three web conferences with organizations leading gender equality measures, which presented good practices, challenges and opportunities to enhance gender equality, diversity and inclusion within organizations and to apply GRB. • Weekly assignments and technical discussions facilitated in the virtual forum by the course tutor. • A practical activity delivered at the end of the course: The project work consisted on costing a gender equality, diversity and inclusion plan for an organization. Practical activities were developed in groups or individually. • Mutual learning exercise: At the end of the course, participants presented a synthesis of their work in a virtual classroom for discussion, good practice exchange and mutual learning.
