The E-learning Course on Industry-BLK collaboration for a quality TVET in Indonesia provided insights into a management approach that focuses on the strengthening of the collaboration between TVET Centres and the private sector. Building on the already existing good practices, the course discussed practical concepts and strategies on how to further involve the industry in the design, implementation and assessment of TVET programmes. Furthermore, this course was designed to facilitate the development of a holistic understanding of the management of vocational training centres in order to face the challenges of the future of work. OBJECTIVES The objective of the course was to strengthen the participants’ technical knowledge on how to improve the functioning of BLK vocational training centres. In particular, the course aimed at: - expanding the participants’ understanding of management concepts, particularly reviewing the governance of TVET Centres and how to promote the ownership of industry stakeholders; - examining challenges in the development and implementation of a relevant training offer; - analyzing bottlenecks in the production and exchange of data between TVET Centres and companies; - developping a thorough understanding of the Centre’s role, in close collaboration with the private sector, in the implementation of support services for the school-to-work transition of graduates; - improving TVET Centre Managers’ communication skills with employers/industry to secure the partnership/ collaboration.
