GLOBAL FORUM ON THE MLC, 2006: CURRENT AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS - SECOND EDITION

The Global Forum is an annual event to open a dialogue amongst key actors in the maritime industry focused on the key aspects related to the implementation of the MLC, 2006 as amended and on its main challenges in relation to key issues affecting the full implementation of the Convention such as the persisting COVID-19 impact. OBJECTIVES The Global Forum aimed at updating knowledge and facilitating a better understanding of key issues in the maritime sector, arising in the context of the COVID-19. CONTENT • COVID – 19: crew changes, vaccination, access to medical care and abandonment cases: Where are we? • Moving forward towards the full implementation of the MLC, 2006. What else is needed? • Fatigue on board: Reducing the risk for seafarers’ health, maritime safety and environmental protection.
