This tailor-made one-week training course is organised in the framework of the Project ‘Empowering youth as agents for peace and social inclusion’. In line with the objectives of the project, this training course wants to provide participants with knowledge, tools and techniques on how to empower young Solomon Islanders so that rather than being seen as potential threats to peace they can be advocates for peace and nation builders
OBJECTIVES
• Create a space for sharing and dialogue among government officials, social partners and other stakeholders involved in youth empowerment;
• Allow participants to better understand the role of young people as decision makers and peace makers
• Develop competences (skills, knowledge and attitudes) in creating conditions for youth participation and social entrepreneurship

• Youth in the front seat to achieve sustainable development goals
• ILO’s normative and operational response for building peace and resilience through employment and decent work
• Understanding youth through empathy mapping
• Stakeholder analysis and partnership building for youth participation
• Instruments & structures for youth participation on decision-making processes
• Tools and methodologies to undertake sector selection that offers best economic opportunities for youth participation
• Promotion of youth entrepreneurship
• Young People as Leaders
• Improving youth leadership and inter-cultural communication skills
