Global Youth Forum 2025

The Global Youth Forum is an experiential learning platform bringing youth at the forefront of efforts aimed at supporting the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and achieving its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

By attending plenary sessions with key experts from the ILO, the UN ecosystem, social enterprises and other civil society organisations, participants explore the building blocks leading to the design of an individual or group project proposal supporting sustainable development efforts locally, nationally, or regionally with Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8, Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all) at their core.

OBJECTIVES

By the end of the Global Youth Forum, participants have:

  • Acquired an in-depth understanding of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how the ILO acts as custodian organization for SDG 8

  • Explored the variety of roles young people can play in supporting the achievement of SDG 8, both on its own and as synergistically supporting other SDGs;

  • Designed and developed a project proposal for a sustainable development initiative grounded in SDG 8 to serve communities closest to them (either locally, nationally or regionally);

  • Expanded their network by interacting with international development practitioners, key experts and like-minded peers committed to advancing sustainable development efforts at various capacities – either in the broader space of multilateralism, or in civil society organizations;

  • Developed soft skills to thrive in multicultural teams and work environments.
