Breaking the Age Wall

The Knowledge-Sharing Event: Breaking the Age Wall is the final activity within the framework of the EU-funded project Unions Say “Yes” to Revitalization: Building Union Power through Intergenerational Partnership. It has gathered over 40 participants from previous project activities and the ETUC Youth Committee members. The face-to-face knowledge‐sharing event closed the project cycle by encouraging the high‐level decision‐makers of the ten organisations to agree a common commitment to define a synthesis road‐map for trade union renewal with a stronger youth component. OBJECTIVES Upon successful completion of the workshop, the participants were able to : • Apply ETUC Recommendations for Engaging Young People in Trade Unions with special emphasis on youth-friendly communication and reaching out to young members • Compare and contrast lessons learnt from the intergenerational dialogues held at national level in Italy, France and Spain in 2021 • Identify the ways and models for collaboration between juniors’ team & seniors’ team in order to produce specific outputs • Prioritize issues that emerge from the national processes in order to provide adequate space for the development of an intergenerational debate at national and EU levels • Contribute to development of the Guidelines on intergenerational partnership for trade union revitalization CONTENT The Knowledge-Sharing Event: Breaking the Age Wall consisted of seven sessions covering the following topics: European Youth Strategy and Priorities Communication Strategy for Engaging Youth – DGB model Digital Campaigns for Youth – TUC model Youth-Friendly Communication and Action – National Experiences Reaching Full Engagement, Empowerment and Development of Youth in Trade Unions Building Union Power through Intergenerational Partnership Recommendations for Future Actions ACHIEVEMENT The Certificate of Participation hereby attests that the participant took part in the Knowledge-Sharing Event: Breaking the Age Wall.
