The course provides insights into a systemic management approach and discusses the practical concepts and skills needed to prepare the vocational training Centres to face the challenges of the future of work. This course is designed to facilitate the development of a holistic understanding of the management of vocational training centres by the participants.
This eLearning training offer is part of ITCILO’s Skills Development portfolio, which targets worldwide capacity building needs to support the implementation of TVET and skills development programs.
OBJECTIVES
• Improve the knowledge about skills-focused systemic approach within the ILO ILS-driven perspective;
• Understand the different facets of the VTC autonomy and reflect on the level of autonomy VTCs have in country contexts;
• Know the different skills anticipation mechanisms and tools and choose the ones that are applicable at MOVTC level;
• Be able to map VTC stakeholders and reflect on the linkages and strategies to engage with them, including PPPs;
• Be able to map internal processes within the VTC;
• Improve the knowledge about quality assurance measures and management in the VTC;
• Be able to clearly define functions and tasks of the Manager of a VTC, thus reflecting on the general and specific competencies s/he should have;
• Define financing diversification strategies for the VTC to enhance financial sustainability within its specific context;
• Develop concrete ideas on how to improve social inclusion of a VTC;
• Know the different models of a Job Service Office within a VTC and reflect on the actions to be led to facilitate S-to-W transition for TVET graduates.

ACHIEVEMENT
Number of hours: 60 hours
Participants were required to complete various exercises and seven assignments (one per module). After successfully completing the pre-defined modules, participants were required to submit a capstone project as final assignment, with the aim to demonstrate the consolidated learning gained through the activities.
Weighting of assignments:
• Each in-module assignment weighs 10% on the final grade;
• Final assignment weighs 30% on the final grade.
