The Sectoral Approaches to Skills Development course was tailor-made to meet the needs of the constituents of the Boosting Jobs and Enhancing Skills for Youth in Rwanda’s Digital Economy Project. The latter is a multi-year project funded by the Government of Luxembourg and brings together the ILO and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in support of the African Union (AU) under the umbrella of the Global initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth. The project aims to support in the capacity building and provide technical assistance that contributes to the establishment, operationalisation and the development of the sector skills councils in Rwanda. This support aims to contribute to the agenda of creating an adequate skill base in Rwanda to identify industry needs and skill gaps to be addressed.
OBJECTIVES
Through the Course, participants have:
Enhanced knowledge about the establishment, financing and functioning of sectoral skill councils
Exposure to international examples of skills councils
Understanding of methodologies for skills anticipation (forecasting and foresight)
