The Executive Course on Pension Policy and Management serves as a platform for in-depth discussion and capacity-building on pension systems' design and management in the context of global and regional economic changes. Given the evolving nature of pension systems and the recent findings of the ILO World Social Protection Report, this residential course is held to address the emerging challenges and integrate the latest evidence in pension policy.

OBJECTIVES

The course aims to equip participants with advanced technical and strategic skills to:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the core functions and roles of different pension systems and their relevance in achieving social protection goals.

  • Analyze recent global and regional trends in pension system outcomes, including coverage, adequacy, sustainability, and gender-responsiveness.

  • Explore and apply design options for contributory and non-contributory pension schemes that ensure long-term sustainability and inclusivity.

  • Apply international labor standards and policy tools to assess and design pension system reforms.

  • Critically evaluate the impacts of pension reforms using international labor standards as benchmarks.

  • Explore pension reform proposals based on evidence and tailored to specific country contexts.
