ESSENTIALS IN OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH FOR EIIP LEBANON

The training on Essentials in Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) aimed at empowering EIIP colleagues interested in getting the essential knowledge about OSH to enhance the delivery of the project. The online programme was designed to promote OSH by exploring a range of topics related to a general culture of health and safety at work, as well as specific risks and issues. The course was offered as a self-learning programme to allow maximum flexibility to the EIIP colleagues. Participants could choose the order of the modules, how many they wanted to take every week, compatibly with their schedule and commitments. At the end of the training programme, participants took a final exam based on the content of the 29 learning modules. OBJECTIVES The objective of the training programme was to equip participants with the essential knowledge of OSH to empower them in the delivery of the EIIP project. Through the course, participants: • Deepened their understanding of the key themes that promote a general culture of health and safety at work, as well as covering specific risks and issues linked to EOSH. • Consolidated and strengthened their technical knowledge on the 29 training modules of the EOSH training package; CONTENT The training covered the technical modules on EOSH exploring the following themes: • Introduction to safety and health at work • Management of prevention • Risk assessment • Accident prevention and reporting • Motivating workers: leadership & supervision • Work permits • Personal protective equipment • Safety and health signalization • Emergency responses • Internal emergency plan • Ergonomics • Hazardous substances • Special works • Health and safety committees • Fire and explosions • Confined spaces • Tools, machines and appliances • Hoist, lift and bear • Trip, slip and fall • Work at height • Electricity • Radiation • Asbestos • Noise and vibrations • Drugs and alcohol awareness • Harassment and violence at work • Muscle skeletal disorders • Safe and healthy workplaces for young workers • Managing health crises and COVID-19 NUMBER OF HOURS: 45 hours
