The E-Learning course on Quality Apprenticeships and engaging Social Partners in Skills Development is part of the Skills Academy for Lebanon, comprising a series of training programmes that are the result of extensive consultation and coordination work with the Country office of the ILO in Lebanon. The course facilitates the development of a holistic understanding of policies and systems related to quality apprenticeships. It is structured around four modules that address the aspects related to national policies and to the creation and development of a national or sectoral apprenticeship system in Lebanon, around the six “building blocks” of quality apprenticeships.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the course, participants will have acquired a better understanding of:
• Conceptual background of apprenticeships, including definitions, models, and approaches
• Governance and funding schemes for different types of apprenticeships
• How to facilitate social dialogue, especially between social partners
• International labour standards on apprenticeships
In addition, they will be able to:
• Utilize diagnostic tools to identify bottlenecks and possible solutions to various challenges in Lebanon
• Identify emerging issues in apprenticeships, as well as initial ideas for solutions
• Master tools and instruments to implement quality apprenticeships in Lebanon
CONTENT
This course consists of the following learning units:
• MODULE 1: NATIONAL QUALITY APPRENTICESHIPS SYSTEMS
• MODULE 2: CONFIGURATION OF QUALITY APPRENTICESHIPS SYSTEMS DATA
• MODULE 3: FINANCING QUALITY APPRENTICESHIPS SYSTEMS
• MODULE 4: TOWARDS QUALITY APPRENTICESHIPS SYSTEMS
METHODOLOGY
This innovative e-learning course has been designed according to a learner-centred approach in order to better involve participants and keep them motivated. It is highly interactive and engaging, using different methods throughout the four parts of the course to make the content interesting, relevant and entertaining.
