This online course analysed success stories and barriers, and explored how gender can be part of an organizational change-management strategy, rather than as a stand-alone item on the agenda.
OBJECTIVES
Participants in the Gender and Organizational Change online course analysed how organizations manage gender mainstreaming and gender equality strategies. They assessed factors that are conducive to a successful integration of gender equality as cross-cutting issues throughout the organization as well as understanding the importance of empowerment strategies. The online course brought together, in a broad scope, two key approaches, which concern change management combined with the gender equality and women empowerment perspective.
Specific objectives:
• review benefits and drawbacks of equality-related policies, strategies, and actions;
• apply a change management approach to promote gender equality in organizations;
• produce more equitable results, in general, at the organizational level;
• identify strategies and change projects to improve gender equality in the organization.
CONTENT
Participants have analysed how organizations deal with change through the following content:
• gender equality concepts;
• vision of the ideal organization;
• gender equality in organizations and its organizational paradigms;
• conceptual tools for understanding gender equality in organizations;
• gender mainstreaming in the organization: approaches to the integration of gender equality;
• web of institutionalization;
• the individual and the organization through a changing environment;
• leading organizational change towards gender equality;
• promoting change through coaching;
• the profile of a change agent;
• resistance and resilience;
• communication plan.
