GENDER MAINSTREAMING AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

This online course covered the basic concepts and key international gender equality frameworks as well as the ILO decent work agenda. The course provided tools for analysing gender issues in various settings and to include gender planning in any work environment. It also covered the various forms of resistance and suggested strategies to overcome them. OBJECTIVES This course provided learners with information and a set of training strategies and tools to be used in the learners’ work context in order to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment and to support gender mainstreaming efforts in the workplace. CONTENT Become fluent with the gender equality by understanding: • the key concepts • the international frameworks • the key issues on gender equality in the world of work Analyse and plan: • how to implement gender analysis in a country context • how to approach gender in a systemic way Promote and communicate: • how to develop the business case for gender equality and women’s empowerment • how to identify and manage resistances NUMBER OF HOURS: 20
