The training is targeting frontline officers (Law enforcement, trade unions, NGOs, RBC, auditors) likely to enter in contact with persons in forced labour and provides the context to understand what’s behind forced labour; being familiar with the legal framework in place in order to effectively protect victims; assess the situation to detect whether it is forced labour or not; and be familiar with a victim centered approach to provide assistance to victims.
OBJECTIVES
1) Understand the constitutive elements of forced labour and how it is defined in the relevant international legal instruments;
2) Be able to detect a situation of forced labour through operational indicators and to gather the related evidence;
3) Be able to build trust with victims and apply a human centred approach when interviewing and/ or providing assistance to victims.
CONTENT
• Scope of forced labour: high-risk sectors and vulnerable groups, global estimates.
• Forced Labour definition and related concepts (Trafficking in Persons, bonded labour, etc.).
• Operational indicators to detect Forced Labour.
• Human centred approach.
