Digital Communication for inclusiveness

The online course focused on developing and upgrading the competencies of national trade union representatives in the thematic areas of communication. The course provided participants with knowledge, tools and concrete skills to boost the impact of targeted digital communication and an overview of strategies and practical tips to design advocacy actions and trade unions campaigns. It aimed at strengthening EFFAT affiliates in their communication outreach and in fostering digital networks of trade unionists. OBJECTIVES Upon successful completion of the course, participants were able to : • Understand and identify the steps of an effective strategic communication planning • Define communication goals and messages towards targeted groups of recipients • Identify the latest communication trends • Understand and leverage the potential of the digital communication tools, mainly social media • Craft engaging digital content and design compelling human-centred stories • Assess the current communication strategies and identify gaps in the current approach CONTENT The course covered four (4) learning modules: • Module 1. Planning communication for equality • Module 2. Digital communication tools • Module 3. Storytelling in digital communication • Module 4: Communication for organizing The course consisted of 24 hours of synchronous and asynchronous online learning: 4 live webinars and ecampus assignments. ECAMPUS The activity was delivered via the E-campus, the education platform of the International Training Centre of the ILO. The platform was used for the distribution of course information, training material, learning tasks, exchanges of good practices and experiences, feedback and multimedia content.
