OBJECTIVES
• Acquire a good understanding of the drivers of change which impact the demand for skills and the reasons for labour market imbalances and their consequences
• Discuss critical milestones, questions, objectives, beneficiaries and target groups of anticipating skill needs for the labour market
• Understand the underlying principles of and the different approaches to skills needs anticipation.
• Analyse different methods and tools related to quantitative and qualitative methods, which can be used for skill needs anticipation and matching supply and demand in the labour market.
• Discuss the different institutional approaches and implications of setting up anticipation systems
• Acquire a better understanding of how to analyse and translate data from anticipation exercises into adequate policy making and planning.

Module 1: Rationale for skills needs anticipation and matching
Module 2: Generation and analysis of labour market data
Module 3: Approaches and methodologies for anticipating skills needs
Module 4: Institutional mechanisms and roles of different actors for anticipation & matching
Module 5: Sectoral approaches
Module 6: Translation into policy and practice
METHODOLOGY
The course was composed of six modules and each module ran for one week, with synchronous and asynchronous learning and experience-sharing moments. Specific webinars with international experts were also offered throughout the course.
Participants were provided with the opportunity to learn from any location, at any time of the day. The course was highly interactive and engaging and participants were asked to make comments on specific topics and to discuss different issues in forums in order to foster peer learning and exchange of best practices among them.
