Golland Katharina
Malkia’s general goal is to build the individual capacities of women line managers. Many definitions of women empowerment exist, yet they have in common the concepts of agency, choice and decision-making. From a labour market perspective, a woman is empowered when she has both the ability to succeed and advance in her professional career; and the power to make and act on her career development decisions. Our goal is, therefore, both to ease women’s access to resources (information, training, career opportunities) and to strengthen their power and agency (decision-making, use of time, self-confidence), regarding their working life.
OBJECTIVES
Malkia’s specific goals are to:
Raise understanding of labour markets trends, women career opportunities and gender biases through up-to-date and contextualized data;
Increase awareness of women on possible gender biases through a self-assessment tool;
Build capacity on key managerial soft skills to strengthen employability through learning and practice using state of the art mobile learning methodologies;
Foster self-esteem and develop operational management competencies through coaching.
Enhance/extend EBMO service offering on women’s empowerment and pipeline building
CONTENT
The content is structured around 5 self-paced learning modules on gender biases (1), core skills for line managers (4). Additional elements are provided as part as the course, namely:
3 live webinars to go deeper and exchange on key women empowerment issues;
2 operational coaching sessions to develop autonomy in resolving “My change challenge” that each participant may define at the beginning of the course.
