Online Training on Grievance Handling and Workplace Cooperation

6 - 27 November 2020 The ILO, in 2019, supported the tripartite constituencies in Sri Lanka to develop guidelines for workplace cooperation and grievance handling respectively. Initial training was also conducted on these guidelines. An effective recovery from the COVID-19, especially at an enterprise-level, will require a concerted effort to implement these guidelines. The ILO is therefore supporting the delivery of a tripartite training-of-trainers programme, focused on promoting the implementation of the workplace cooperation guidelines and the grievance handling guidelines. OBJECTIVES This course aimed to: • Strengthen the participant’s knowledge on workplace cooperation and grievance handling in line with ILO standards • Identify the contribution that these two mechanisms can play for mitigating the impact of COVID in the workplace • Familiarize participants with a number of training tools they can use to strengthen the capacity of workers and employers and their representatives at enterprise level. • Create a thorough understanding of both the workplace cooperation guidelines and the grievance handling guidelines, developed in 2019, in order to facilitate implementation of these guidelines. CONTENT Introduction to social dialogue with a focus on social dialogue at the workplace (Collective bargaining, grievance Handling and workplace cooperation) Focus on Grievance handling Introduction to workplace cooperation Ensuring an effective functioning of Workplace cooperation, Wrap up and conclusion ACHIEVEMENT Participants achieved a better understanding of social dialogue at the workplace mechanisms and way to promote ILO instruments in the workplace
