GLOBAL EMPLOYERS YOUNG PROFESSIONALS' ACADEMY

The Global Employers Young Professionals’ Academy (GEYPA) is one of the flagship initiatives of the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO), run in collaboration with the International Organisation of Employers (IOE). The Academy is an annual training programme designed for highly qualified young professionals under the age of 35 already working or aiming to work in employers’ and business membership organisations (EBMOs) around the world. The GEYPA aims to build their capacity and skills to empower them to effect change and advance their careers within their organisations and beyond, at the regional and international levels. OBJECTIVES Through the Academy, the young professionals have: • Acquired knowledge – to implement and adapt policies at local, national, and international levels. • Gained advocacy skills – to engage more effectively with governments and stakeholders. • Refined their negotiation skills to participate in meaningful social dialogue. • Received guidance - to achieve greater policy impact. CONTENT The Global Employers Young Professionals’ Academy consisted of a combination of different learning activities touching upon the following thematic areas: • Advocacy • International labour standards • Negotiation skills • Social dialogue • Sustainable economic development • Effective communication NUMBER OF HOURS: 40
