Pro-employment macroeconomic and sectoral policies for AU member states

The objective of the course was to strengthen the capacities of policymakers and social partners from 10 selected African pilot countries to design and implement pro-employment macroeconomic policies and sectoral strategies towards fostering structural transformation that is required to meet the opportunities and challenges for employment creation in the 21st century. The workshop has allowed participants, through ample group work, to explore their countries’ employment policy status quo, and to interactively develop a report and plan that proposes a way forward on how the existing policy environment can be rendered more adequate to induce job-rich growth.
