Fostering Resilience and Embracing Digitalization - II edition

Herrick Edward Henriquez

Employer and Business Membership Organizations (EBMOs) need to be able to support their members in addressing the ongoing transformation of the business environment, and to represent the collective voice of business to the public authorities, especially amidst an unstable geopolitical context, rapid changes in the economic environment, and an uncertain future. The International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO) and the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) created this online training outlining the core elements of resilience, with a focus on embracing digitalization, managing risks in times of crisis, and ensuring the financial sustainability of EBMOs. OBJECTIVES • Define your EBMO baseline concerning organizational resilience and digitalization strategies. • Identify current gaps to formulate a successful resilience and digitalization plan for your organization. • Gain insights into effective risk management strategies to enhance the resilience of your organization in time of crisis and to offer support to your members in navigating the intricate landscape of risks. • Explore the principles of financial sustainability to ensure your organization’s longterm viability and robust financial health. • Transform the conventional practices into resilience-oriented strategic actions. • Apply practical tools and methodologies for successful and resilient business organizations. • Expand your professional network with EBMO colleagues and international experts. CONTENT The tailored content of this training has been based on three published guides developed by ILO and ITCILO ACT/EMP on Resilience and Digitalization (2022)1, Risk management (2023)2 and Financial Sustainability (2024). The course also included knowledge and expertise from CIPE and its global partner network on the topics of resilience, digitalization, risk management, and financial sustainability. The content included case studies from EBMOs from around the world and practical tools and exercises to help strengthen organizational resilience in a systematic way.
