ILO Participatory Gender Audit Facilitator Certification

This Certification programme trains participants on the ILO Participatory Gender Audit (PGA) methodology, an organizational analysis method which assesses the degree of integration of gender equality across all levels of an organization, promotes gender mainstreaming, and maximises the organization’s potential for change. OBJECTIVES The objective of this Certification programme was for participants to develop Participatory Gender Audit (PGA) skills and competences to plan and run gender audits in organizations. Participants reviewed the various grounds of discrimination found in the workplace as well as good practices to promote gender responsive work settings and provide recommendations for improvements. CONTENT Participants reviewed the following content: o Overview of the PGA methodology: the four pillars and the key components of the process; o Before the Audit: PGA phases at a glance and planning a PGA; o Formation and coordination of the PGA facilitation team; o PGA key areas of analysis; o During the Audit: undertaking the PGA desk review; o Preparing and conducting individual interviews; o Elements for workshop design, preparation and implementation of workshop exercises; o After the Audit: feedback and report writing. ACHIEVEMENT The participant has undertaken the PGA certification course (60 hours), and has successfully completed the required assignments and final exam. The Certification Committee attests that the participant has the gender expertise and audit methodology competencies required to be a Gender Audit Facilitator. NUMBER OF HOURS: 60
