SOCIAL SECURITY INSPECTION

The course provided the participants with a panorama of current approaches to the social security inspection as well as the most relevant tools, resources, and strategies. The course was built around the interaction between social security, occupational safety, and labour inspection. Participants had an opportunity to explore practical issues surrounding the preparation, conduction, and follow-up of inspection visits as well as accident investigations. This training activity also embraced the human rights approach to social security and protection against certain life risks and social needs.

OBJECTIVES

This training course offered participants the opportunity to:

  • Learn about ILO standards, which establish the principles, functions and main characteristics of labour inspection;

  • Describe the principles, functions and main characteristics of labour inspection;

  • Strengthen the capacity of labour inspectors to fulfil their role of monitoring compliance with social security regulations;

  • Apply the key principles in the preparation, conduction, and follow-up of inspection visits;

  • Explore the interaction between social security, occupational safety and labour inspection;

  • Familiarize themselves with the best practices of social security inspection in selected countries.
