This participatory activity brought together ECOP staff members and experts for a hands-on exploration of effective lobbying and advocacy. It included theoretical inputs, interactive sessions, and a multi-stakeholder simulation designed to replicate real-world policy influencing processes.
Participants:
Explored the role and internal dynamics of EBMOs in policy engagement;
Gained insight into planning and executing advocacy campaigns;
Engaged in a practical simulation involving negotiation, coalition-building, and message development;
Shared best practices, challenges, and actionable lessons from the field.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of the programme was to strengthen the capacity of ECOP staff to engage in strategic lobbying and advocacy efforts that reflect the needs and priorities of employers. Specifically, the training aimed to:
Enhance participants’ understanding of lobbying and advocacy principles in the context of employers’ organizations;
Strengthen ECOP’s institutional role and voice in national policy dialogue;
Provide practical tools and methods for designing and implementing effective advocacy strategies;
Create a space for participants to practice stakeholder engagement through a simulation exercise.
