E-DESIGN FOR IMPACTFUL COURSES

The e-design training was created to help participants learn and experiment with the main functionalities of the new local online platforms for their employers and business members' organisations (EBMOs). The training activity was conceived as a laboratory, where each week, participants could try out and explore the built-in activities and resources of their platform to design an impactful online course. OBJECTIVES The objective of the e-design training activity was to help participants get familiar with and explore the various activities and resources built into their local online eCampus platforms. Participants gained knowledge of the different uses for each activity and function, and they learned how to combine them to effectively create an impactful online course. Each week, they took a series of challenges and performed different tasks to build an online course on their local platforms. As a result of the e-design training, participants created an online course that could be used as a ready-made template for future activities. Finally, participants learned how to deliver engaging online training courses by exploring different training methodologies and facilitation techniques. CONTENT The training covered the following themes to build and design an effective online training course. • Define learning objectives considering their audience’s profile and expectations and leveraging valuable tools such as the learning objectives generator, Bloom’s and the affective domain taxonomies. • Create a content plan and a curriculum that is enhanced by the different eCampus tools. • Understand the different functions and purposes of the activities and resources built into eCampus to maximise the learning journey. • Test and experiment authoring tools for the creation of training material, including Articulate, H5P, Canva and Genially. • Build an online course as a template to refer to for their future activities. • Share tips, lessons learned and best practices among participants. In addition to the technical knowledge on e-design, participants had access to additional content on: • Setting up and promoting a new training service; • Organising successful online training; • Designing emotional training sessions; • Online facilitation methodologies for interactive and engaging training sessions.
