E-ACADEMY ON LABOUR ADMINISTRATION, LABOUR INSPECTION AND WORKPLACE COMPLIANCE

The Academy provided participants with a unique opportunity to gain new insights, share experiences and reflect on key issues, trends and challenges relating to workplace compliance through labour inspection. The Academy also addressed the needs and responses of governments, both in the short-term scenario of the pandemic and post-pandemic COVID-19, and in improving the labour market governance and the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in the medium and long term.
OBJECTIVES
By the end of the Academy, participants were able to:
• Describe the future of work and the role of labour inspection and labour administration.
• Summarize the key issues to take into consideration to ensure the fundamental principles and rights at work.
• Recognize good practices for an effective COVID-19 response by the labour inspection.
• Identify the ILO guidelines for an efficient planning and workflow for labour inspection both in general and in selected sectors of activity.
• Apply a specific labour inspection methodology to the informal economy.
• Describe successful experiences for undertaking the inspection of psychosocial factors.
• Evaluate the feasibility of applying new tools, recruitment and training strategies information and communication technologies, and strategies in the labour inspection system.
CONTENT
Participants had an opportunity to follow plenary sessions of the Academy, complemented by six (6) Elective sessions of their choice:
