This tutor-based online certification programme enables participants to acquire the knowledge, the technical skills and the tools necessary to ensure effective, agile and adaptive implementation of development projects, taking into account the complexity of the social systems in which such projects take place. OBJECTIVES This certification attests that the participants have achieved the following objectives: • Acquire an understanding of the requirements of project management in simple, complicated and complex contexts. • Gain an overview of different implementation contexts as experienced by a variety of development actors. • Gain the skills to plan, implement and monitor development projects in predictive, hybrid, agile and adaptive approaches. CONTENT I. Distance learning modules The online certification programme was delivered through the ITCILO online platform E-campus. Participants completed the following eight tutor-guided weekly learning topics introducing in details the knowledge ands skills required to plan, implement and monitor development projects in predictive, hybrid, agile and adaptive approaches. The on-line modules were complemented by live workshop-type webinar sessions. • Project Cycle Management • Operational project planning • Settings of complexity • Agile and adaptive project management approaches and techniques • Project governance structures, from traditional functional to remote models • Stakeholder engagement, leadership, team management and communication • Risk management and procurement management • Monitoring, control and reporting, including remotely and financial management II. Knowledge tests and collaborative assignments For every weekly topic, participants were required to study the content, to respond to a knowledge test with a minimum of 80% correct answers, to apply the knowledge to their own context and case and share their experience with their peers in specially designed collaborative on-line exercises. III. Written individual assignments Every week the participants were required to submit an individual assignment based on their own project. The assignment consisted in the application of management and analytical tools to plan, implement and monitor projects in predictive, hybrid, agile and adaptive approaches related to the weekly topic. Every assignment was corrected by the ITCILO experts and revised if necessary to reach the minimum standard of quality. ACHIEVEMENT This certificate of achievement has been delivered to the participants that have produced the required deliverables by completing individual and group tasks and assignments during each phase of the programme. I. Distance learning modules (36 hours) • Completion of eight online modules with webinars II. Knowledge tests and collaborative exercises (12 hours) • Acquisition of practical knowledge and skills to identify, structure, plan, budget and evaluate a project, III. Written individual assignments (12 hours) • Application of a series of management and analytical tools plan, implement and monitor projects in predictive, hybrid, agile and adaptive approaches • Submission of the assignments to the ITCILO experts for assessment and review.
