This eLearning course was designed to facilitate the development of a shared and holistic analysis of the challenges of TVET institutions in order to cope with the current situation of the Lebanese society and labour market.
Building on the already existing good practices, the eLearning course discussed practical concepts and strategies on how to further involve the industry in the design, implementation and assessment of a market-relevant initial and continuous training offer to effectively implement the SAB operations.
OBJECTIVES
The aim of the eLearning course was to develop and strengthen the competencies of the participants on improving the functioning of SAB in TVET institutions in Lebanon. By the end of the course the participants have:
• Developed a shared understanding of SABs’ roles and responsibilities to foster active involvement of each of its members;
• Elaborated a thorough analysis of the needs and the gaps at school level;
• Defined joint recommendations to improve the existing situation, with key decisions advised by SAB;
• Discussed concrete modus operandi tools to run SAB meetings and report on decisions and results and follow up on the management response to SAB advised actions;
• Provided insights into a management approach that focuses on the strengthening of the collaboration between TVET Centres and the private sector.
CONTENT
Module 1: The role of the industry in the TVET institution management
• Engaging industry through social dialogue - the role of the industry in skills systems;
• Typologies of multi-stakeholder TVET Governance;
• SAB missions in Lebanon - fostering a shared understanding
Module 2: Taking stock of your school situation
• Self-evaluation models - What to look at towards a quality TVET institution?
• Individual and group -shared analysis of needs and gaps of each pilot school;
• Discussion of main challenges of TVET institutions in Lebanon: inspiring each other.
Module 3: Fostering SAB implementation & getting equipped
• Analysing the feedback loop - SAB – School Management – DG VTE;
• Defining the tools to report SAB advices and to analyse the management response;
• Action planning - the strategic and operational agenda for the SAB.
