Governments regularly implement programmes to promote employment, but the impact of these interventions is not yet sufficiently documented. Recognising the need for rigorous and credible evaluation results and a broad knowledge of what really works to promote employment, the International Training Centre of the ILO offered this course in collaboration with the ILO Regional Office Arab States and the ILO Employment Policy Department. OBJECTIVES The ultimate aim of the course was to support the design and implementation of employment programmes by integrating appropriate evaluation plans. In particular, the course imparted the skills needed to make informed decisions about on how best to measure and evaluate the results and impact of interventions aimed at promoting decent employment.
