OBJECTIVES
Validate the developed manuals content in terms of accuracy and identify areas where materials needs to localized to meet peculiar country level needs
Introduce BDS Providers with the conceptual framework and understanding o of decent work principles and labour productivity
Enable BDS providers to train construction businesses in management concepts and decent work and productivity issues as detailed in the guides and project objectives
Outline the project objectives and support available for BDS providers in the roll out of the training guides Support the localization of the training content to country specifics
Clarify roles, responsibilities and expectations for the role out of the decent work focused BDS for construction sector SMEs
Support Providers to develop a DBS provision roll out plan
Collaboratively develop a roadmap for technical assistance for the roll out and provision of the SME support services.
CONTENT
The objective of the trainer (TOT) programme was to equip participants with the knowledge, tools, and instruments for developing and implement training sessions on Decent Work, labour productivity and responsible business conduct (RBC) which ultimately read to sustainable business operation.
In this regard, the TOT sought to enhance the BDS Providers’ understanding of fundamental principles and rights a work, their relationship with business operations and how these principles can be implemented in enterprise operations with the objective of promoting responsible labour practices which in turn affect the employer-worker relations, enterprise’s workers retention capacity, and related labour productivity and enterprise competitiveness.
