IOM COMPASS Communication For Development

The purpose of the C4D course is to provide IOM staff from Protection, Reintegration, Awareness Raising and Communications under the COMPASS Initiative, with key skills and in-depth knowledge on counter-trafficking advocacy, anti-smuggling campaigns, social media engagement, and community-based awareness-raising on irregular migration. OBJECTIVES o Learn how to mobilize online audiences to inspire change in real life social issues (e.g. Human Trafficking) or provide a better understanding of migration issues o Learn how to effectively communicate on the COMPASS approach and its impact, in order to inspire better migration programming among partners, donor and governments o Learn how to implement community-driven youth empowerment initiatives to effectively promote safe migration in communities CONTENT Communication for Development, awareness raising, storytelling techniques, creative writing and multimedia production, social media and public speaking tips and tricks.
