Ending violence and harassment in the World of Work: a Training for Change Makers

The workshop combines training-of-trainers elements with sessions focusing on sharing international experiences and good practices as well as more participatory sessions geared towards fine-tuning specific skills. Participants will refresh their knowledge about the key innovations of ILO Convention No. 190 and Recommendation No. 206 and at the same time learn how to best communicate such innovations, sensitize and train others about them. OBJECTIVES This course will equip participants with the tools to: • Understand the problem of violence and harassment as relating specifically to their work context; • Sensitize and train others on the “fundamentals” of such elements; • Identify practical measures that can be put in place to prevent, address and remedy; • Design a workplace policy document against violence and harassment that is fully aligned with ILO standards; • Elaborate an action plan to turn theory into practice. CONTENT • Violence and harassment, occupational risks and psychosocial factors: learning to apply the OSH lens; • Handling grievances and dispute resolution on violence and harassment: DOs and DONTs; • The development of workplace policy documents for prevention of violence and harassment; • Elements of change theory.
