Gender Equality and Diversity

22 March - 16 April 2021 The online course focused on development and upgrading of competences of national trade union representatives in the thematic area of gender equality and diversity. The course provided participants with knowledge, tools and space for sharing and current challenges and good practices on gender equality and diversity at national, sectoral and workplace levels. It aimed to strengthen EFFAT’s gender equality and diversity network; raise awareness among EFFAT affiliates about the need to make trade unions more attactive to women and to make gender mainstreaming an intergral part of trade unions’ organising strategies. OBJECTIVES Upon successful completion of the course, participants are able to : a) Understand and relate to existing instruments, tools, policies and actions to ensure and promote gender equality and diversity b) Mainstream gender equality and diversity in trade unions c) Analyze and identify common issues at European level with sectorial approach d) Share and identify good trade union practices in food, agriculture, tourism and domestic workers’ sectors across Europe e) Take steps towards consolidation of gender equality and diversity network within EFFAT f) Apply EFFAT recommendations to protect workers from gender-based violence adopted by the Congress in 2019 CONTENT The course covered four (4) learning modules: Module 1. Gender Equality Module 2. Violence and harassment Module 3. Equal pay Module 4: Diversity and inclusion The course consist of extimated 24 hours of synchronous and asynchronous online learning: live webinars, self-guided learning modules and ecampus tasks ECAMPUS The activity was delivered via the E-campus, the education platform of the International Training Centre of the ILO. The platform was used for the distribution of course information, training material, learning tasks, exchanges of good practices and experiences, feedback and multimedia content.
