Essentials of Occupational Safety and Health

The new self-learning course on Essentials in Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) is an innovative training designed to promote key concepts of occupational safety and health (OSH). The self-learning programme is intended for anyone who is interested in OSH, and particularly supervisors and line managers in companies, in ministries or any other institution interested in enhancing safety and health at work. The online course is also suited for trainers and advisers in OSH belonging to organizations involved in the promotion of OSH. The programme is also relevant for people from professional or industrial bodies, training institutions involved in OSH issues and, above all, managers, supervisors and technical staff in charge of OSH. The EOSH is a suite of 29 modules covering a selection of themes and topics that promote a general culture of health and safety at work, as well as specific risks and issues. The Certification attests that the participant has achieved the following objectives: • Consolidated understanding of OSH issues on the general concepts of OSH; • Acquired technical knowledge in specific OSH themes and risks according to the modules below; • Introduction to safety and health at work • Management of prevention • Risk assessment • Accident Prevention and Reporting • Motivating Workers: Leadership & supervision • Work permits • Personal Protective Equipment • Safety and Health signalization • Emergency responses • Internal emergency plan • Ergonomics • Hazardous substances • Special works • Health and safety committees • Fire and explosions • Confined spaces • Tools, machines and appliance • Hoist, lift and bear • Trip, slip and fall • Work at height • Electricity • Radiation • Asbestos • Noise and vibrations • Drugs and alcohol awareness • Harassment and violence at work • Muscle skeletal disorders • Safe and healthy workplaces for Young Workers • Managing COVID-19 and health crises The Certification attests that the participant has successfully passed the ITCILO online exam.
