PREVENTING AND ERADICATING CHILD LABOUR IN THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR

This self-guided e-learning course was developed within the framework of the "Offside Project: ¡marcando la cancha!". The course aims to provide interested persons with a general introduction to prevention and eradication of child labour and the protection of adolescent labour in agriculture, as well as an in-depth look at the concrete actions and experiences developed in Argentina. OBJECTIVES To better understand the phenomenon of child and adolescent labour, its causes, determinants, effects and solutions, in order to become an ally in the fight against child labour. CONTENT - Introduction to child labour, ILO standard-setting instruments, child labour and supply chains, its causes and effects. - Child labour in the rural and agricultural sector, the reality in Argentina and its normative framework. - The role of workers' organisations in the fight against child labour - The role of governments in the fight against child labour - The role of employers' organisations and the private sector in the fight against child labour NUMBER OF HOURS: 5
