Making the voices of social partners count in UN processes Sub-regional Training for Social Partners on UN Reform, SDGs and Decent Work

In order to seize this opportunity offered by the UN reform and also to address potential process challenges, social partners and government officials alike need to be cognizant and well versed in the broader UN reform and its implementation at the country level, in particular as regards national planning and programming processes. OBJECTIVES This course’s overall objectives are to: • Lay out the conceptual and strategic framework of the 2030 Agenda, its linkages with the Decent Work Agenda and its implementation at the national level. • Understand the current UN reform as well as the role of social partners within these processes. • Facilitate the participation of employers’ and workers’ organizations in the UN reform processes, in particular country-level programming and planning, as well as the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. CONTENT The course is organized around four broad topics: The 2030 Agenda and Decent work: How to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals through Decent Work and vice versa; The UN reform at the global level; The role of social partners in SDGs and UNDS reform; Optimising alignment processes and programming (ILO programming activities, UNRC system, CCA, UNSDCF, DWCP alignment).
