Enhancing Capacities of Youth-Led Organizations to Deliver Digital Employment Services for Youth in Africa

This Forum was part of the Joint Programme’s effort to champion youth-led solutions and empower young people to contribute to the digital transformation of their societies. The Forum supported youth-led organizations in scaling up their innovative solutions to link young people to decent jobs through digital employment services. During the Forum, participants had access to emerging knowledge products and tools on how to offer youth relevant digital employment services. The event also served as an opportunity to take stock of existing approaches and innovative ideas for the delivery of digital skills training with a focus on marginalised groups (including but not limited to refugees and young persons with disabilities). Throughout the Forum, participants discussed next steps toward strengthening the capacity of youth-led organizations to offer digital employment services for youth. OBJECTIVES By the end of the Forum, participants have: • Shared their innovative solutions for the provision of digital employment services to young people • Discussed opportunities encountered and challenges faced while offering digital services solutions for youth • Explored their needs to scale-up current initiatives and solutions • Built a stronger network of youth-led organizations CONTENT The first day of the Forum ‘set the scene’ and allowed participants to meet, while boosting reflections and discussions on specific developments and demands to strengthen the capacity of youth-led organizations in the provision of relevant youth employment services. During the second day of the Forum, participants explored different digital solutions available that could strengthen their capacities to provide digital services for youths and contribute to the development of a road map on next steps.
