OBJECTIVES
To equip participants with knowledge of the international professional standards of the ISSA Guidelines on Good Governance;
To develop a firm understanding of the main principles, structures and mechanisms that promote and support good governance practices in key areas of social security administration;
To build capacity in ISSA member organizations to improve social security administration by adopting the ISSA Guidelines on Good Governance;
To support participants’ efforts on the corporate application of the good governance guidelines in their own organization;
To facilitate the formation of a network of practitioners of the ISSA Guidelines on Good Governance.
CONTENT
Module 1: Principles of Governance for the Board and Management
Module 2: Strategic Planning and risk management
Module 3: Financial sustainability, the actuary and the auditor
Module 4: Enforcing the prudent person principle in investment management
Module 5: Prevention and control of error, evasion and fraud in contributions and benefits
Module 6: Service standards for members and beneficiaries
Module 7: Human capital policies: development, retention and succession
ACHIEVEMENT
The E-Learning Course on Good Governance consisted of 60 hours of learning.
The assessment method consisted of:
Self-assessment (20%);
Individual presentation (50%);
Interaction and sharing during lectures and group discussions (10%);
Post-training assignment (20%).
